• Meet in a safe/public location when possible.
• Never share unnecessary personal information.
• Inspect items before completing a transaction.
• Only use the marketplace payment system for transactions that require online payment.

Prohibited items

• Weapons and ammunition. Firearms, ammunition, and illegal weapons are not allowed.
• Drugs and drug paraphernalia. Illegal drugs and related paraphernalia are prohibited.
• Alcohol and tobacco. Do not list alcohol, tobacco, or nicotine products.
• Counterfeit goods. Fake or replica branded goods are not allowed.
• Stolen property. Only list items you own and have the right to sell.
• Animals. Live animals may not be sold on SLO Market.
• Hazardous materials. Explosives, chemicals, and other hazardous items are prohibited.
• Adult content. Sexually explicit listings are not permitted.
• Recalled products. Items under a safety recall may not be listed.
• Unpermitted food sales. Only list produce and food items that are legal to sell in California and SLO County. Cottage-food and agricultural rules still apply.
